Cream of the Crop
The Cream of the Crop screens attempt to sift out the "best" stocks
that satisfy certain conditions. Each table is grouped by
Business Category so that the
categories with the most stocks are at the top. Since stocks of
a similar category tend to move together as a group, you can quickly
see which categories have the most potential in each Cream of the Crop
screen.
The Cream of the Crop screens and their conditions are as follows:
- Undiscovered Growth - Undiscovered Growth Stocks with a
1-Year Performance Ranking of 70 or above. These are the best of the
best of the best (in terms of growth prospects, past price performance, and potential), representing
only about 4-5% of all the stocks in the database.
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order of their
1-Year Performance Rank.
- Positive Growth - Positive Growth Stocks with a
1-Year Performance Ranking of 70 or above. These stocks represent
about 20% of all the stocks in the database.
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order of their
1-Year Performance Rank.
- Setups and Consolidations - Stocks that are consolidating or setting up for
a potentially bullish move. This will quickly give you an idea of which Business Categories
may be setting up to lead the market in the near future. Stocks in this screen are those
that appear in any of the following screens:
In addition, the stocks must also satisfy the following conditions:
- Stocks must be within 15% of a New 52-Week High.
- The 52-Week High must be at least 4 weeks old (effective Apr21,2003: 2 weeks old)
- Stocks may not be in the Gravity Defiers screen.
- The 1-Year Performance Ranking is at least 70
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order
of the number of weeks since their 52-Week High, so the stocks that have the
longest bases will be at the top.
- New Highs - Stocks that have hit New 52-Week Highs this week.
This will let you know which Business Categories are leading the market
in terms of achieving new highs. Within each Business Category, the stocks
are sorted in descending order of the percent advance for the week.
- Overall Rank - Stocks with Overall Ranking of 80 or above.
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order of their
Overall Rank.
- 1-Year Performance Rank - Stocks with 1-Year Performance Ranking of 80 or above.
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order of their
1-Year Performance Rank.
- Week Performance Rank - Stocks with Week Performance Ranking of 80 or above.
Within each Business Category, the stocks are sorted in descending order of their
Week Performance Rank.
